Entry: DVC Thursday, April 27, 2006

After the Da Vinci talk by Pastor Victor on sunday... I decided. I WANT TO READ DVC... like... NOW!! hahahaa & now I found myself FORCING my hands to put down the book, and FORCING my eyes to be shut, and FORCING my mind to stop thinking about the mystery!! It seemed to awaken the part of me that enjoy books.. when I was a little gal in primary school, i was surrounded by friends who were extremely well versed. They read NOVELS (like adult novels!) in primary 4.. amazing.. and they'll use bombastic words (which i'll secretly go home and check out the meanings from dictionary. haha) Those days were the beginning of the reader in me... I'd bug my parents to buy me books. & the funny thing was my mum promised books for me only if i do well in school. So I am motivated to study hard, cos I want to read... hahaa. Usually, i find parents buying loads of novels, books for their children, forcing them to read more. Wat an irony.

Anyway, back to my DVC story. Really intriguied me from page 1. Now I can understand, why DVC is such a hit. Like ps vic mentioned... the dvc touched many topics... from maths, astrology, religion.. to architecture.. arts... paintings... literature... history... I'm ashamed by how little i know. He suggested to "take a red pen and highlight things in the novel which you know is not true". Other than what he mentioned to be "facts", I seem to not be able to counter what is written in the book cos' I don't know the facts!

The bible says.. to always be ready to give a reason for the hope I so profess. I somehow always thought that it means to have a testimony you're ready to share... now it has a differernt meaning. It means to know enough to be able to explain and distinguish between fact and fiction! The plot is so well written... sometimes it's really so easy to just take what is written in the book as fact!

For those who havent read it... pick the book up. I give it 4.5 stars out of 5... and i'm only halfway thro... haha

I've planned.. my nx book will be the truth behind DVC... and the Case for Christ. I've been wanting to read the Case for Christ for sometime alr... just nv pick it up. For whatever reason.
